Operation and maintenance of technical equipment for Samsung Voderady

Bratislava, 3 August 2016
ENGIE Services has been providing operation and maintenance of technical equipment at the Samsung campus in Voderady since August 2016. It has thus continued its previous successful eight-year cooperation in the field of sewage and rainwater drainage.

Samsung Display Slovakia s.r.o. has been manufacturing LCD and LED modules since 2008 in its plant in Voderady, which currently employs more than 1,300 people. The cooperation with ENGIE Services started in the same year and until August 2016 it mainly involved the provision of sewage and rainwater drainage. “Our cooperation has been more than successful. In the eight years of cooperation, there has not been a single misconduct or dereliction of duty that resulted in water flooding the premises or other negative impact on the company’s operations. It was therefore logical that we tendered for the contract to operate and maintain the technical facilities of the buildings on Samsung’s premises in the spring of this year,” says Tomáš Korpáš, ENGIE Services Project Manager. After submitting the most advantageous offer, winning the tender and signing the contract, ENGIE Services started to operate and maintain the technical equipment of the buildings from 1 August 2016. As part of the two-year contract, ENGIE Services will provide its services on a 24/7 basis, through 16 employees who will work on-site at the Samsung plant in Voderady.

“One of the reasons why we were able to succeed in the tender is Samsung’s interest in the comprehensive services we offer. This is primarily about the overall energy management and the possibility of implementing a graphic-database information system to support Chastia’s real estate and asset management. Another benefit, in addition to the maintenance and operation of the facilities, is the provision of energy consultancy and the procurement of other maintenance and inspection activities. Our added value thus lies in providing a comprehensive service and relieving the client from common operational problems,” explains Tomáš Korpáš.

The range of activities to be provided within the framework of the launched project is quite wide, it includes complete provision of operation, maintenance, inspection and control of technical equipment and technologies (steam boiler house, cooling equipment, compressor station and others), activities in the field of electrical systems, keeping of operational records of equipment, summer and winter maintenance and many others. In addition, ENGIE Services is also responsible for the maintenance of production equipment and production lines necessary to manufacture the client’s products. The Samsung plant site is integrated into the Voderady Industrial Park, which is made up of several companies. ”

It is in this cooperation that we see the potential to expand our cooperation in the area of providing our services to other companies located in the industrial park. Our intention is also to expand our facility management services for Samsung’s sister plant in Galanta. I believe that we will be able to do this thanks to our positive and professional approach and correct relations with the client,” concludes Tomáš Korpáš.
