More than 130 innovation-focused events in more than 25 countries around the world – this is the balance sheet of the international ENGIE Innovation Week 2018 (22.5 – 1.6.2018), which the Group organises annually. The main themes for this year were energy efficiency, renewable energy, mobility and Smart cities. The events took a variety of forms from innovation seminars, conferences, workshops, interactive lectures to road shows and international exhibitions.
ENGIE in Slovakia also actively participated in ENGIE Innovation Week 2018, organising a half-day ENGIE Seminar 2018 on 24 May 2018 in Bratislava Binario. The event was attended by business partners, ENGIE clients and employees, students of the secondary vocational school and the media.
Topics in the field of energy management, innovation, use of the latest digital technologies and guaranteed energy services (GES) were presented by 5 speakers. The current state of GES in Slovakia from the point of view of the Association of Energy Service Providers was presented by Marcel Lauko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of APES-SK. The customer perspective on this issue was presented by Dušan Rusnák, Director of AD HOC Malacky, using a specific example of a project in Malacky. The idea of cooperation between universities and practice in the context of innovation was presented by Michal Masaryk from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. On behalf of ENGIE Services as the organizer, Radovan Šajben, Development and Innovation Manager, spoke on the topic of digital technologies in the service of modern energy management and Daniel Čurka, Director of the Energy Services Department. His lecture entitled The journey from first contact to GES operation at the customer’s site, provided the attendees with practical experience of using GES at the customer’s site.
The ENGIE Seminar breaks were dedicated to innovative networking, tour and interpretation of the use of the IoT devices on display. In addition to the lively expert discussion, the seminar also provided a lot of practical suggestions for all participants.
