From 1. 12 we continue to provide heat supply for the Old Town

Bratislava, 11. 11. 2015

On 10 November 2015, at a special Old Town Council meeting, the councillors approved the extension of the lease agreement with Termming for a further 10 years. The subject of the lease are heat distribution and energy equipment.

In September this year, the deputies approved the extension of the lease agreement with Termming in the form of a resolution signed by Radoslav Števčík, the mayor of the Old Town district. At the end of October, the deputies voted again, this time to cancel the September resolution. However, Mayor Radoslav Števčík did not sign the resolution. At yesterday’s special council meeting, the majority of deputies decided to extend the lease for another 10 years.

“We are pleased with the result of yesterday’s extraordinary council and see it as a helpful step towards the residents of the Old Town. In the framework of an amendment to the contract, we have committed to triple the payments for renting the thermal equipment. We believe that the increase in rent and other planned investments will help not only the district in the development of the heat management, but also the residents themselves, for whom we will be able to continue to provide a stable supplier of quality and long-term heat supply,” says Martin Žigo, Director of the Energy Production and Distribution Division. Until the end of the month, negotiations will be held between the Staré Mesto district and Termming in order to agree on the terms of further cooperation. After the contract is signed, Termming will continue to provide heat and hot water to the residents of the Staré Mesto district from 1 December 2015.
