Bratislava, 13 June 2016
In June 2016, ENGIE Services in Slovakia participated for the first time in ENGIE Group’s international project aimed at promoting innovation – ENGIE Innovation Week 2016. The aim of the Innovation Week events, which took place simultaneously in 22 countries around the world, was to present existing innovations, search for new ones, evaluate the submitted projects and create a space for communication and networking.
ENGIE Innovation Week 2016 took place this year from 6 to 10 June 2016. ENGIE Services in Slovakia actively participated in the project by organizing an internal event ENGIE Innovation Breakfast 2016, which took place on the last day of the Innovation Week on 10 June 2016, at the headquarters on Jarošova 1 in Bratislava. Almost 50 employees attended the “Innovation Breakfast”, the aim of which was to present the ENGIE Group’s innovation projects in Slovakia, as well as worldwide, in an interactive way.
“Innovation is key for a company operating in our segment. They allow us to stay one step ahead of our competitors and bring a new dimension and added value to new and existing projects for our clients. Thanks to the support of innovation within the international ENGIE Group, several successful start-ups have been created and integrated into the Group’s service portfolio. The premiere ENGIE Innovation Breakfast 2016 event in Slovakia brought positive feedback from the participants. We plan to continue the tradition we have started and would like to focus on more active support of innovation projects in our country as well,” says Juraj Sochor, director of the Bratislava Region. Since 2008, ENGIE Concern has been organising an internal competition for employees – Innovation Trophies – as part of Innovation Week. ENGIE Group employees anywhere in the world can enter their innovation projects, which are then evaluated by a jury according to pre-set criteria. ”
This year was a real breakthrough in terms of the entries and, in my opinion, it is proof that innovation is one of the key themes for the Group at the moment. The 2016 Innovation Trophies competition attracted 580 employee innovation projects from 62 countries around the world.” concludes Juraj Sochor.
