Cofely, a leader in energy and complex property management, has been operating on the Slovak market under the new name ENGIE Services since May. The change, which follows last year’s global rebranding of ENGIE’s parent company, is currently underway across all countries in which ENGIE operates.
The rebranding of Cofely in Slovakia is related to the change of the name and logo of the French parent company ENGIE, which began in April 2015. The main reasons behind the change in the company’s identity include the transformation of the energy sector, the strengthening of its global footprint, decentralisation towards end customers in individual countries and a greater emphasis on the use of local renewable energy sources. “The world of energy is undergoing disruptive changes to which we must respond. But ENGIE does not want to just react to the changes, it wants to be a leader in the transformation of the energy sector,” says Peter Strýček, Director of ENGIE Services for the Czech and Slovak Republics. Despite its size, ENGIE wants to be a modern and flexible company that can respond quickly to market changes. That is why it focuses on digitalization in the energy sector, on projects in the area of Smart cities and supports innovation and start-up projects of its employees. The change of name is also linked to the change in organisational structure, which now consists of 24 new international business divisions. “ENGIE’s ambition is to get closer to customers at a local level, to respond better and faster to their changing requirements. The change in structure is also linked to the change in support for the use of renewable energy sources, which has also been significantly increased and decentralised,” concludes Peter Strýček.
Strong ambitions for Slovakia
ENGIE Services, which has been operating in Slovakia under the name Cofely for more than 5 years, strives to respond flexibly to rapidly changing trends in energy, building management and technology. It no longer focuses only on providing services in the field of heat supply and building management, but offers new solutions in industry, public lighting and digitalization in the energy sector, EPC (Energy Performance Contracting) projects and Smart cities. Thanks to its broad portfolio of services and synergies between its different areas of activity, it brings unique and competitive solutions to its customers. It focuses on energy efficiency and strives to increase the use of renewable energy sources. It is gradually adding more renovated and newly built wood chip boiler plants to its portfolio. This year, it plans to reconstruct the Sever boiler house in Pezinok with the intention of building a new biomass combustion plant. “The entire energy sector, and ultimately the service sector, has been undergoing revolutionary changes in recent months. The change in the identity of the parent concern, but also of our company in Slovakia, among other things, clearly declares our readiness not only to react to these changes, but above all our readiness to be actors who influence the future direction of this sector,” says ENGIE Services CEO Roman Doupovec. As is the case in the parent company, the structure of the organisation in Slovakia will soon be changed, the main reason being to strengthen the competences of local teams and to get closer to customers in the individual regions.
