Bratislava, 5 March 2018
On the last day of February and the first day of March, the largest and most visited career event in Slovakia – Profesia Days – took place at the Incheba Expo exhibition centre in Bratislava. The event, which annually gathers thousands of job seekers and dozens of employers present themselves. An event in which the ENGIE Group participated for the first time.
However, the job fair is not just an exceptional meeting place for job seekers to meet employers. In addition to the unique opportunity to present yourself, it brings both parties immediate feedback and therefore an invaluable chance to adapt to trends or change processes that are not working. Evidence of the truly wide range of opportunities is also provided by the extensive range of work and training opportunities on offer for all groups of people in the labour market, including students, recent graduates, people with disabilities, the unemployed and those considering a career change. Although this was the ninth year that Profession Days has been held, ENGIE’s participation was a novelty. This placed the company among more than 180 exhibitors offering jobs in a wide variety of fields such as commerce, services, administration, transport, manufacturing, IT, management, finance, banking, tourism, healthcare and many others. Nearly 16 thousand visitors attended the event this year. “ENGIE’s pilot participation in Profesia Days 2018 in Bratislava is an excellent opportunity to make ourselves visible among the general public, to present our business activities to visitors, but especially to impress as an employer during personal meetings,” says Dominika Hippová, Human Resources Manager and Ethics Commissioner of ENGIE Group companies in Slovakia. The generous exhibition area of approx. 9,000 m² makes it possible to include a truly diverse programme in the job fair programme. During lectures and workshops, visitors could learn more about the possibilities of personal development through soft skills or about news from the field of online marketing and online business. Top speakers and motivators from a wide variety of industries spoke about unconventional paths to success through their “success stories” during the two days. Model interviews, in turn, helped candidates gain practical skills and information on how to write a CV that will stand out among others or what salary to ask for. In the lecture room, experienced experts guided candidates through the world of job hunting, explaining where they make the most common mistakes and giving a variety of advice on how to get a job in which one will be happy. “I evaluate our participation in Profesia Days 2018 in a clearly positive way. Over the course of two days, we had the opportunity to talk and exchange contacts with almost a hundred job seekers at ENGIE. The added value of participation for us is also their information on how they perceive us on the labour market, what benefits are important to them and what their expectations from the employer are,” concludes Dominika Hippová.
