In the current period of coronary crisis, ENGIE Services comes up with a new service offer – air disinfection with ozone generator. This highly efficient and environmentally friendly method of disinfection can be used in administrative premises, production halls, warehouses, hospitals or shopping centres.
Why disinfect rooms with ozone?
Ozone is an environmentally friendly gas that, according to research, is up to 50 times more effective and 3,000 times faster compared to chlorine. Ozone disinfection kills bacteria, viruses, moulds and other microorganisms with high efficiency. Pathogen eradication with ozone achieves up to 99.9% success rate. It kills E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Giardia, Cryptospordia and SARS-CoV viruses more effectively than any other disinfectant. Regular ozonation helps eliminate insects, mites and other pests. Ozone not only has strong disinfectant but also deodorizing effects. It eliminates odors of both organic and inorganic origin.
How is ozone disinfection carried out?
The disinfection of the premises is carried out by means of an ozone generator, which produces ozone by means of controlled electrical discharges in the device. When switched on, the ozone from the generator is released into the air, onto carpets, furniture, fabrics and other parts of the area to be disinfected, effectively killing all unwanted micro-organisms. The gas itself does not damage electrical appliances or other electrical equipment and is therefore also suitable for disinfecting data centres, server rooms, control rooms and the like. Safety first
Ozone in high concentrations can irritate the respiratory tract and mucous membranes. It is therefore important that no people, animals or plants are in the area during disinfection. The disinfection process takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area of the space in which it is carried out. Once the ozonisation is complete, the area should be left closed for 30 minutes and then ventilated properly.
