Electromobility is no longer just a buzzword, but a Slovak reality. On our roads, thanks to state support for the purchase of electric cars, plug-in hybrids and the construction of charging infrastructure, there are more and more cars on the road that need only electric energy to operate.

ENGIE has included electromobility among its key activities to support the low-carbon energy transition. Our company, like many of our customers, uses electric vehicles every day to deliver its services. As the number of EVs grows, so does the demand for charging options in company car parks. However, most office buildings have not been designed with this new trend in mind and therefore face challenges in providing sufficient electrical connection capacity. The answer may be to use one of the available smart charging options.

Can you reserve a specific capacity for your company car park?

The solution of dynamic capacity distribution between multiple charging stations allows you to charge more EVs at the same time than the net sum of the required charging capacities. In addition, it allows you to use the full speed of the chargers at the same time when there is less interest in charging at a given time. The Hub-Satellite charging station connection system from EVBox, part of the ENGIE Group, ensures that each car is always optimally charged while maintaining the available capacity. The system allows you to group up to 20 charging sessions.

Does your building have a reserved capacity that you don’t want to exceed? The charging station management system can monitor your building’s instantaneous consumption and reserve only the available capacity for charging EVs that will not put your building’s reserved capacity at risk of being exceeded, thus avoiding penalties from your distribution company.

ENGIE Services in cooperation with AgeVolt used this solution to install charging stations for the Jarošova Office Center in Bratislava. The features of the smart charging of electric vehicles can be seen in the following diagram:

Interest in electromobility services is growing in proportion to the increasing number of electric vehicles in corporate fleets. ENGIE Services currently offers comprehensive solutions in this area, which in addition to smart charging also include the supply and installation of chargers, their operation and maintenance, service and repair, energy management and mobility management.
