At the end of April this year, the ENGIE Group launched the ENGIE Harmony Project worldwide. Its aim is to communicate and promote innovative and sustainable projects, which are carried out under the leadership of ENGIE teams and partners, in a long-term and consistent manner. The Group believes that aligning individual interests with general societal interests will lead to harmonious progress worldwide. In its new communication project, ENGIE reaffirms its commitment to the countries in which it operates – to develop solutions with positive economic, social and environmental consequences.
The ideas of the ENGIE Harmony Project are promoted through an advertising campaign that presents real collaborative projects that symbolise the world of tomorrow. They are designed and implemented by ENGIE teams in collaboration with local start-ups, activists, artists and technology enthusiasts. Simply with all those who share a common desire to act for the future harmonious progress of the country in which they live.
More than advertising films
Solar Graffiti
Is the title of the film, which is among the first projects promoted. It was filmed in Mexico and describes the true story of the transformation of an abandoned sports stadium in the suburbs of Mexico City. ENGIE engineers collaborated with Heliatek and Mexican artist N3O on the renovation. The new stadium is now functional again and visually appealing thanks to the street artists. The latest generation of 100% green organic solar film lighting was used to illuminate it. As a result, the project brought local communities together and brought the joy of sport and entertainment to the suburbs of the Mexican capital.
French green farmers
The second film traces the ENGIE teams’ collaboration with AgriBioMéthane and local farmers. It brings the true story of ten farmers in rural Vendée who recycle their waste to produce biogas and biomethane. The project has brought local people together and enabled them to promote a socially responsible approach, for example by preparing meals from local produce, which they modify using organically produced gas. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
The film was shot in the UK with ENGIE teams and partner The London Legacy Development Corporation. The Group’s latest advertising spot looks at the transformation of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, originally built for the 2012 Games, into an environmentally friendly and sustainable metropolitan area. The local power station, built and operated by ENGIE, harnesses and converts wood waste into energy sufficient to provide heat and power for the entire park and surrounding area. In addition, through this cost-effective use of energy, ENGIE has been able to drastically reduce the CO2 emissions it produces. In order to maintain the environmental standards it has set, ENGIE’s local teams continue to maintain the park and its facilities, including providing many of the other services provided as part of the property’s management.
Working together for harmonious sustainability
Developing renewable electricity generation, green gas, sustainable urban mobility solutions, energy efficiency and smart cities… These are all examples of the ENGIE Group’s support for collective projects, confirming its role as a pioneer in the energy revolution.
“The ENGIE Harmony Project illustrates in a very concrete and modern way ENGIE’s work for harmonious progress, in particular by reconciling the interests of individuals with the general interest of the society in which they live. ENGIE is one of the global brands that has a responsibility to design and implement the development not only of its own company, but also of the society in which it operates. To achieve these goals, we must combine the strengths of our teams with an equally strong and committed approach from all civil society actors. We are proud of what we have achieved together with our partners, and we will continue to strive to be useful not only for our clients, but also for the world that surrounds us,” concludes ENGIE’s Executive Vice President of Brand and Communications Ana Busto. More information about the projects and the people behind them, as well as the films themselves, can be found at https://harmonyproject.engie.com/en/ and on ENGIE’s social media channels.
