The EcoPoint building in Ko\u0161ice was officially awarded the LEED certificate on 23 September 2014. The EcoPoint Office Center green building has thus been definitively ranked among the groups of buildings with a responsible approach to the environment by receiving the international award. Cofely, a.s. participated in the construction project and the actual implementation. The project was designed using the best technologies on the market with an emphasis on economic and environmental aspects. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The EcoPoint building was awarded the LEED certificate in the GOLD category with a score of 73 points, which also ranks it first as the building with the highest number of points achieved so far in Slovakia. Cofely a.s. was involved in the “green” concept of the office building from the initial stage, which cooperated in designing the most suitable solution with regard to optimizing the operating costs of the building. “The EcoPoint project was implemented using the best technologies on the market, with an emphasis on economic and environmental aspects. We worked with the investor at the design documentation stage to combine the ecological and economical aspects as efficiently as possible. Therefore, obtaining the LEED certificate is also a great success for us and at the same time a recognition of the quality of our work,” says Roman Doupovec, CEO of Cofely a.s. As part of its facility management services, Cofely continues to be involved in the overall management of the property, ensuring its maintenance and professional review. The awarding of the LEED certificate was also associated with the opening ceremony of the Ko\u0161ice branch of Cofely, which is one of the leaders in Slovakia in the provision of energy services and comprehensive property management. “Our philosophy is to bring environmentally friendly solutions to our clients. That is why we are pleased that the premises of the Ko\u0161ice office are located in a building that meets this philosophy in all respects,” adds Roman Doupovec. LEED certification is one of the most widely used certification systems worldwide. A building that obtains it is internationally perceived as a building that has been constructed with respect for the environment, which also increases its value on the market. “Buildings with this certificate guarantee more favourable conditions for both landlords and tenants. The building materials used increase the quality of the construction and contribute to a better working and living environment, and their operating costs are much lower. Today, these aspects need to be taken into account in the construction project.
