At yesterday’s Solution Summit 2026<\/strong> conference, our colleague R\u00f3bert Ru\u0148anin, <\/strong>Sales Director of ENGIE Services, raised a topic that is closely related to the future of Slovak cities, companies and the energy industry itself: Why decarbonise?<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The answer is simple and extremely fundamental – because the reality around us demands it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Why decarbonise?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Global warming and climate change<\/strong> are no longer a distant threat. Extreme temperatures, droughts, torrential rains and disrupted ecosystems have a tangible economic value<\/strong> borne by states, cities, businesses and individuals. <\/p>\n

For us at ENGIE<\/a>, it is essential to implement solutions<\/a> that bring real environmental and economic benefits. <\/strong>Solutions that are in line with the European targets: reducing emissions by 55% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.<\/p>\n

Another decisive factor is competitiveness<\/strong>. Companies that opt for low-carbon technologies are not only meeting legislative requirements, but are preparing for a stable and prosperous future. <\/p>\n

Energy security and independence<\/strong> are equally important. A stable and predictable energy supply is no longer a given. Our focus is on creating solutions that minimise dependence on external supplies, while combining efficiency and flexibility. <\/p>\n

The path to the right energy mix<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Decarbonisation is not black and white. We are not just choosing between renewables and fossil fuels – the solution is always in the middle. <\/p>\n

The key to success should be a stable energy mix based on relevant data and expert discussion<\/strong> to propose the optimal mix of measures. <\/strong> <\/p>\n

A well-balanced energy mix can simultaneously meet decarbonisation objectives, increase competitiveness and strengthen energy self-sufficiency<\/strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n
